Rental terms & house rules

For a pleasant, safe and respectful stay. These rules apply to the lead guest, accompanying guests and visitors.

1. Occupancy

The accommodation is exclusively for the guests declared in the booking, with a maximum of 4 guests. Subletting, transfer of the booking or additional overnight guests are not permitted without prior approval from the owner. The lead guest is responsible for accompanying guests and visitors.

2. Neighbours and quiet hours

Parties and events are not permitted. Quiet must be respected, especially from 10:00 pm, inside the apartment, on the terraces and in common areas.

3. Terraces and railings

Do not sit, climb or lean over railings. Children must be supervised by an adult on the terraces. Nothing may be thrown or allowed to fall from the terrace, and furniture must not be positioned against railings in a way that enables climbing.

4. Parasol and outdoor furniture

Close the parasol whenever it is windy, at night and whenever the apartment is left unattended. The guest is responsible for damage resulting from careless use of the parasol or outdoor furniture.

5. Shutters

Before lowering a shutter, check that no person, chair, table or other object is underneath or in its path. Never force a blocked shutter; report the issue to the owner.

6. Fire safety

The property is strictly non-smoking. Cigarettes, shisha, candles and open flames are not allowed indoors. Cooking appliances must not be left unattended. Smoke detectors must not be removed, covered or disabled. A fire extinguisher is located in the kitchen. In the event of a serious fire: evacuate, do not use the lift and call 112. Escape routes must remain clear.

7. Air conditioning

Use the air conditioning reasonably and responsibly. Keep doors and windows closed while it is running and switch it off or reduce it when leaving for an extended period.

8. Water and sanitary facilities

Do not leave water running unnecessarily. Close taps and showers properly and report leaks immediately. Wipes, sanitary products, grease and objects that could block drains must not be disposed of in toilets or drains.

9. Kitchen and final cleaning

Final cleaning is included, but normal careful use is still expected. Before leaving: empty the dishwasher, put away dishes and leave the kitchen tidy, remove personal food and belongings, and take out all rubbish.

10. Waste

No rubbish bags or waste may be left in the apartment after departure. Use the City of Blankenberge waste containers in accordance with the practical information on the website.

11. Doors, windows and weather

When leaving, close doors and windows securely, particularly in rain or windy weather, to prevent damage.

12. Furniture and equipment

Use furniture and equipment normally. Indoor furniture may not be moved onto the terrace. Do not dismantle, modify or attempt to repair equipment yourself.

13. Damage and incidents

Report breakages, leaks, water damage, electrical problems, shutter issues or other incidents as soon as they are noticed. Damage resulting from abnormal use, negligence or failure to follow these rules may be charged based on the actual costs incurred.

14. Liability

The guest is responsible for damage caused by themselves, accompanying guests or visitors to the accommodation or third-party property. It is the guest’s responsibility to verify that they have suitable liability insurance covering the stay and possible damage.

15. Common areas

Please respect the lift, stairs, corridors and other residents. Nothing may obstruct passageways or escape routes.

16. Keys

Keys must be used with care and returned according to departure instructions. If lost, the actual necessary cost of replacing keys, access devices or locks may be charged.

17. Departure

The accommodation must be vacated by the time shown on the website and in the stay confirmation. Follow the instructions for keys, waste, kitchen and securing the property.

18. Rates, minimum stay, confirmation and payment

Rates vary according to season, weekdays, weekends and certain high-demand periods. The price shown on the website is calculated automatically night by night. The minimum stay is 2 nights, except in July and August when it is 7 nights. Submitting the form is a booking request and does not trigger any immediate payment. The owner first checks availability, including on other booking channels. If the stay is available, the dates may be placed on temporary hold and a secure payment link is sent to the guest. Unless stated otherwise, this hold is kept for 12 hours. The booking becomes final once the requested payment has been received and the owner has confirmed the reservation.

No specific cancellation policy is added here: it will be communicated separately once defined. Mandatory legal provisions remain applicable.
